Bank serves ‘blocked ads’ as respite from financial temptation /

How to spend it/ It is important for banks to try to connect and understand their customers during times of financial hardship. Through promoting responsible spending, Fifth Third Bank demonstrates support for those homes for sale stonebridge raleigh nc the effects online fifth third the economic downturn. Many Americans are struggling to cover even the most basic living costs in the wake of Covid-19. CNN recently cited a US Census Household Pulse Survey, which stated that 9.9 million Americans were not up to date on their rent or mortgage payments by the end of October this year and had little to no confidence of paying next month’s bills on time.

Despite the economic uncertainty, people are having a hard time saving for the rainy days ahead. According to a survey by Engine Group, a large majority of consumers expect a recession next year dmv almaden san jose are spending up to 30% more online. Part of the problem is that people are at home and bored for many hours of the day, and targeted ads on social media make them vulnerable to impulse buying.

‘Saving money is tough,’ it says on Pereira O’Dell’s website in reference to the campaign. ‘Saving money during a pandemic with nothing to do but scroll social media while tempting ads track you is even tougher.’

Boring banking / Many big banks have a hard time making the services they offer understandable for customers. In contrast, Fifth Third Bank’s campaign is clear, quirky and distinctive – all the things that most banks are not. Businesses like Klarna (an online financial services provider that allows customers to pay for items in instalments) as well as challenger banks like Monzo, which add value by helping customers make better financial decisions, have made legacy banks look old fashioned. The BuyNow Blocker campaign challenges this perception.

The campaign might be a pretty standard social media buy, but showing up with humour on a platform like Instagram is likely to appeal to a younger, more tech-savvy audience. The campaign’s blue tiles are also striking enough to alert people when scrolling through their social media feeds – a more refreshing approach to marketing than the standard banking ads about trust and longevity.

Woman Says Scammers Drained Her Account Through Zelle, But Fifth Third Bank Told Her They ‘Can’t Prove Anything’

UPDATE: The bank has now refunded the money taken from the account.

CHICAGO (CBS) — A Vernon Hills woman says someone stole thousands of dollars from her through the payment service Zelle, which is built into most major banking apps.

CBS 2 Morning Insider Tim McNicholas explains two risky things to avoid to help other consumers avoid becoming victims.

It all started in late June, when Deborah Steidl walked into a Vernon Hills store.

“My debit card wouldn’t work, and I knew that I had $2,000 in the account,” she said.

Steidl, 69, checked her Fifth Third Bank app, which told her the account was nearly empty after a large transaction.

So she went to her bank in Vernon Hills, trying to figure out what was going on.

“I told them that I didn’t do that. Somebody obviously must have gotten into my account, because that’s the only money that I have. Why would I just get rid online fifth third all my money? They said, ‘Well, it went through a Zelle account,’ so I must have did it,” Steidl said. “I said, ‘What are you talking about, a Zelle account? I don’t have a Zelle account.’”

Zelle is a digital payment network that allows customers to transfer money online. All you need is the email address or phone number of the person you’re sending to.

Fifth Third gave Steidl three transaction details to the supposed recipient; all Zelle transfers on June 21 and June 22 to someone named Mutiat Shobajo, totaling $2,540.

Steidl said she’s never heard of Shobajo.

Fifth Third’s website says they offer multiple layers of fraud protection, but the phone number santander customer service denied her fraud claims, stating “we have determined the transaction is valid.”

“They said it was over, that here was nothing more they could do. They don’t know where the money went, and they can’t prove anything,” Steidl said.

It’s still a mystery how someone got into her funds.

A police report indicates Steidl’s husband accessed his Fifth Third account from a public library computer in June, and might have left the computer open while he used the bathroom. But the Zelle transactions all happened after library hours.

“I don’t know. I mean, I just don’t know how they did it,” Steidl said.

Nonetheless, Fifth Third said customers should never access their accounts from public computers for that very reason. The bank also pointed out scammers sometimes will call people, pretending to be an employee, and convince customers to find and reveal one-time passcodes for features like Zelle.

Her husband vaguely remembered giving some information nightcore look at me now lyrics someone who said they were from the bank, but Steidl said no one has told her if that had anything to do with her problems.

“I wasn’t working, and that was my Social Security that check he stole,” Steidl said.

Both Zelle and Fifth Third would not comment on the specifics of Steidl’s case.

The Worst Bank EVER!!!

Credit Karma member

Back in 2014 I got a car loan from this bank, and all was ok, until, something happened and all my scheduled payments got cancelled (not by me) and were never processed. Since I had the payments set up I wasn't even thinking to check if they were clearing, as I was busy with other things (recently bought a house and was renovating it). As a result I missed 2 or 3 payments, but no one bothered to call me, because supposedly they didn't have permission to contact me by phone, email and mail, but apparently they did have permission to enter my premises and reposes the car. I literally made over 30 calls to figure out what happened and how I can get the car back, and each time they hung up on me without providing any information. At one point, one of the customer service representatives asked me if there is anyone with me, because she heard voices. I replied that I'm standing in line in the store and she told me that she needs permission from the people around me to talk to me. When I asked if she is serous she said yes and if I don't comply she will have no choice but to end the call. So I asked again, "do you seriously need permission from a stranger to speak to me about my personal matter?" and she hung up on me. When I called back, the same person answered and she literally denied talking to me a minute earlier, and she hung up on me again. Eventually, I was able to get info how to get my car back. So I paid through Western Union, waited for the bank to process the payment and went to pick up the car all the same day. When we got to the parking lot where the car was held the repo guy who picked up our car previous night told us that all this parking lot was jam-packed with cars financed through 5/3 bank. He himself admitted that he gets 90% of his business from this bank alone. Few months later, I saw a repossession on my credit, so I called the bank and asked if there is a way to remove it. I offered to pay off the loan and in return I asked if they could remove the repo from my credit history. I wasn't even surprised when even before I finished the sentence I hear NO. The explanation was that their, policy calls for accurate reporting. Wish it also called for reporting how unprofessional and deceitful this bank is. Honestly, even if my life depended on it, I don't want to have anything to do with this bank ever again, because nothing but trouble can be expected.

A big $15 dollars fee ??????????? that's crazy customer service is no good. At all. I refinance my loan with someone else now just waiting on 53rd bank to recieve the payoff

Do not apply for this credit card or do any business at 5/3

Bad

Credit Karma member

Took forever just to activate. Took several days to be able to get online and create a pin. When I got my first statement the minimum pmt was almost half of the total and more than any of my other cards with much larger balances. I guess if the coerce you to pay it off quickly-that is how they keep the interest rate at zero. When I called my contact at the bank-she could not be bothered to talk to me and the woman I talked with was really rude and unpleasant. Will not use card again-have had much better success with almost all other cards. 5/3 does not appreciate their customers.

Incompetent.

Credit Karma member

Lost transfers, web site bugs, broken robo-callers, customer service lines that say they open at 8:00 but remain closed long after, online customer support that ignores messages. They're a total disaster. They reply with insubstantive garbage like current balance and next payment, even after pointing out that they ignored the issues listed in my complaints.

Worst bank to finance a car with.

Credit Karma member

Our 2006 Chrysler Pacifica was originally financed with Fifth Third Bank. They were horrendous to deal with, no online payments, rude customer service, and they worked in the stone ages. Aftar about six months they sold us to Santander Consumer USA which is awesome compared to Fifth Third. Santander has been wonderful and operate in the modern era.

Worst Auto Loan Ever

Credit Karma member

I will be happy when this one is paid off. I will never use them again.

No Issue with Auto Loan

Credit Karma member

I just purchased a new car in May using fifththird bank to finance my auto loan. I have had no issues with this bank (Knock on wood). I use Bill pay through my checking account bank, and if I pay my loan today the payment will be posted tomorrow on my auto loan account. So I have nothing bad to say about this bank.

It's not THAT bad as some people say

Credit Karma member

I feel the need to make a review because some of these people making reviews are just plain dumb... My only complaints are... 1. You do not get any statements mailed to you. When you call the number you get a automated recording of the status of your loan, which is okay I guess. I still would much rather get a statement every month. 2. Payment books? That's old technology.... BUT there is a much easier way to make payments than using those books. Online through MY personal bank I make payments every month straight to Fifth Third Bank. I set it up on Bill Pay and every month just pay it. No problems at all during the last 6 months doing it that way. 3. You cannot pay towards principal. Any amount more than your monthly payment will just simply lower next months payment or the month after if it's a large amount over what your monthly payment should be. That's IT!!! It's not that bad people. Would I choose this bank again? No I would not, just for those three things, but it's not as bad as some people make it out to be.

What? No online loan access?

Credit Karma member

I bought my (used - but new to me) car back in 2009, and next month will be the very last payment I am scheduled to make on the auto loan. I don't have an account with 5/3 bank other than this loan, as I am a credit union member, and normally would give all of my business to them. I was approved for an auto loan through my credit union, and had planned to use it until it came time to close the deal. The dealership offered me a better interest rate with 5/3 bank than what I was preapproved for at my credit union. It saved me some $$, so I went for it. I haven't had any problems so far, but I didn't try to set up auto pay with them, as I do my online bill payments through my own credit union so I can control what gets pulled from my account each month. With the horror stories I have read above, I am glad I did that. So, why not 5 stars? Well, honestly, I really would like to access my auto loan online and have the option to make payments online (as opposed to making a bill-pay ACH payment each month). My husband has an auto loan with Chase, and he is able to access his auto loan as easily as his credit card. In fact, the accounts are linked, so he only has to log in one time. I don't plan on buying another car for some time, but when the time comes, I don't know that I'd be as eager to take a loan from this bank. Most likely, I'll go with my credit union instead.

The Fine Print

  • Bank reserves the right to limit each customer to one new account-related gift incentive per calendar year.

  • Bonus will be deposited into your new checking account within 10 business days of completing requirements.

Some states are able to open the Free Checking Account with Extra time (now called Momentum checking), that’s the best option if available. Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan all have the free option. Other states have another free checking offer.

Early Account Termination Fee

This account does not have an early account termination fee

Our Verdict

We haven’t seen the $300 bonus with the same requirements for a long time, so I don’t think it makes sense to wait for that bonus to come back. Given that there is a direct deposit requirement this time around I’d recommend waiting for the no direct deposit offer to return and will be removing this from the best bank bonus page.

Useful posts regarding bank bonuses:

Post history:

  • Update: Some offers now requiring direct deposit, make sure to triple check your offer.
  • Update 6/12/20: Deal is back and valid until August 31, 2020. It looks like they are split testing offers though as I’ve seen offers for $50, $150 and $250 depending on the device I used. Make sure you see the $250 offer before applying, the $150 also has a direct deposit requirement whereas the $250 offer does not.  You can try using a VPN or clearing cookies to get the $250 offer to show. Hat tip to reader newbie & Ben
  • Update 1/4/20: Deal is back and valid until April 30th, 2020. This replaces the $500 deal. A lot of people will prefer this deal as it only requires $500 to be deposited rather than $20,000.
  • Update 7/1/19: Deal has been extended until September 30th, 2019
  • Update 5/20/19: Deal has been extended until June 30th, 2019. Hat tip to YAR
  • Update 1/6/19: Bonus is $250, I’d still recommend waiting for a bonus of $300 instead. There was also a recent $200 + $200 deal as well.
  • Update  07/01/18: Bonus has been extended until September 30th, 2018 but reduced to $200. I’d recommend waiting for the bigger $300 bonus to come back.
  • Update 04/02/18: Bonus is now $250 instead of $200. Can be opened online (e-mail yourself a coupon and then follow the prompts)
  • Update 01/07/18: Bonus is back but is now only $200 instead of $300. Might be worth waiting for a bigger bonus to come along.

Cons Explained

  • High monthly maintenance fees – Nearly all of Fifth Third Bank’s accounts come with monthly maintenance fees, and they're somewhat steeper than average for consumer accounts. Checking account fees range from $11 per month to $25 per month, while all savings accounts have a $5 per month fee.

  • Low APY on interest-bearing accounts – Fifth Third Bank offers APYs starting at 0.01% and rising to 0.10% at their highest. These rates are lower than other banks offer. In addition, you can only earn interest on balances up to $50,000 in the Fifth Third Goal Setter Savings Account.
  • Monthly debit card service charge –Unlike many banks that offer free debit card usage, Fifth Third Bank charges Essential Check Account holders a monthly fee of $3.95 for use of their debit card.

  • Want to have multiple accounts at the same bank
  • Love earning extra money: bonuses, interest even on small balances, and cashback with a debit card
  • Can maintain a $1,500 balance in checking account
  • Would like the ease and convenience of a contactless debit card

What Does Fifth Third Bank Offer?

Fifth Third Bank carries pretty much the full array of deposit accounts and services to meet the needs of consumers. These include:

  • Savings accounts
  • Checking accounts
  • Money market account
  • Certificates of deposit
  • Credit cards

Savings Accounts

Fifth Third Goal Setter Savings Account

As an introductory savings vehicle, the Fifth Third Goal Setter Savings Account has a lot to offer. With this account, you start by setting your savings goal, anywhere from $500 to $25,000. You can open the account with no minimum deposit, although you will need to fund it within 45 days. Once you reach your savings goal, Fifth Third gives you a one-time interest bonus equal to all the interest you have earned over the life of the account.

The APY on this account is low: only 0.01% for balances up to $50,000. In addition, there is no interest paid on balances above $50,000. There is a $5 monthly service charge, which is waived for the first six months (185 days). However, there are several other ways to avoid the charge:

  • Have a Fifth Third Checking Account or Express Banking Account
  • Maintain an average monthly balance of $500 or more
  • Be an account holder under the age of 18
  • Enroll in Fifth Third Military Banking

Fifth Third Relationship Savings Account

The Fifth Third Relationship Savings Account is set up to reward customers who handle both their checking and savings at Fifth Third Bank. This account offers two different APYs, a standard one for customers who only have a savings account, and a higher Relationship APY for those who also have a checking account:

BalanceStandard APYRelationship APY
$0.01-$9,9990.01%0.02%
$10,000-$24,9990.01%0.02%
$25,000-$49,9990.01%0.02%
$50,000+0.01%0.02%

This account has a $5 per month service charge, which is waived for customers who also have a checking account (except for the Express Banking Account—see below), who maintain a minimum $500 monthly balance, who are under age 18, or who enroll in military banking.

When you pair a Fifth Third Relationship Savings Account with a checking account, you can automatically transfer money from checking to savings.

Checking Accounts

Fifth Third Express Banking

While not exactly a checking account, Fifth Third Express Banking provides customers an account with no maintenance fee that offers many of the benefits of a checking account: You can cash checks and make deposits at Fifth Third Bank branches and deposit checks via the mobile app. However, the account does not allow ATM deposits or check-writing. You also receive an Express Banking Debit Card with this account, and there is a $3.95 monthly service fee for the card.

While there are no monthly maintenance fees with this account, the services you use each have an associated fee, including in-person check cashing/deposits and mobile deposits. However, these fees are reduced based on the number of transactions you make per month.

The fees associated with the debit card and basic services like check cashing and deposits mean that many customers will pay more in monthly service fees using the Fifth Third Express Banking than they would with a more traditional checking account.

Fifth Third Essential Checking

This non-interest bearing basic checking account has a lot to recommend it:

  • A Fifth Third Bank contactless debit card with cashback rewards
  • Mobile banking, which includes mobile deposit and account alerts
  • Access to online bill pay
  • Unlimited check writing

However, the fees on this account might be a bit expensive. To start, the debit card comes with a $3.95 monthly service charge. There is a monthly maintenance fee of $11, which is reduced to $8 if you have monthly direct deposits of at least $500. You can get your monthly maintenance fee waived entirely in one of seven ways:

  1. You maintain a minimum balance of $1,500 per month.
  2. You spend at least $500 per month on a Fifth Third credit card
  3. You have a Fifth Third personal mortgage, auto loan, or line of credit with an outstanding balance.
  4. You are a current or former member of the U.S. military with monthly direct deposits of at least $500.
  5. You participate in your employer’s Fifth Third banking benefits program with monthly direct deposits of at least $500.
  6. You are a student under the age of 23.
  7. You have a Business Premium or Business Elite Checking account.

Despite the lengthy list of options to waive your monthly fee, these requirements are more onerous than those you can find with other banks. In addition, if you need to use an out-of-network ATM, expect to pay $2.75 per transaction.

Fifth Third Enhanced Checking

This interest-bearing checking account not only pays 0.01% APY on your account balance (with no minimum to earn your interest) but having this account also entitles you better rates on other Fifth Third products. You can receive an additional 0.25% on standard rate 6 month-plus CDs during the initial term, as well as 0.50% lower interest rate on Direct Auto Loans, Home Equity Loans and Lines of Credit, and Personal Loans and Lines of Credit. Enhanced Checking account holders also receive exclusive discounts on Fifth Third Brokerage Accounts, as well as exclusive pricing for identity theft protection.

This checking account comes with a $20 monthly maintenance fee, which you can avoid if your deposit and investment accounts have a combined total $20,000 balance at any time during the month, or if you receive monthly direct deposits of at least $5,000. You will also pay the $3.95 per month service charge for the associated debit card, and the $2.75-per-transaction out-of-network ATM fee.

Fifth Third Preferred Checking

This account is Fifth Third Bank’s high-yield checking option. The more you keep in your Fifth Third Preferred Checking Account, the higher your APY:

BalanceAPY
$0.01-$9,9990.01%
$10,000-$24,9990.01%
$25,000-$49,9990.01%
$50,000+0.01%

However, the increased APY comes at a cost. There is a monthly maintenance fee of $25, which can only be waived if your deposit and investment accounts have a combined total balance of $100,000 at any point during the month.

That said, the $3.95 per month service charge for Fifth Third’s debit card is waived for Preferred Checking account holders. Fifth Third Bank will also waive the first 10 out-of-network ATM fees you rack up each month.

It’s also important to note that the APY for this checking account is lower than the rates you can find at other banks, particularly online banks.

Money Market Account

Fifth Third Relationship Money Market Savings Account

Like Fifth Third’s Relationship Savings, the Relationship Money Market Savings Account is set up to encourage customers to have multiple accounts within the bank. There are two different APYs depending on whether you only have a Money Market account with Fifth Third, or you also have a relationship with the bank—i.e., a checking or savings account as well.

BalanceStandard APYRelationship APY
$0.01-$24,9990.01%0.02%
$25,000-$49,9990.01%0.02%
$50,000-$99,9990.01%0.02%
$100,000+0.01%0.02%

Though this is called a Money Market Savings Account, you have the ability to write checks and pay bills from it, as well as conduct your business via mobile banking. There is no minimum balance required to open the account.

This account has a $5 per month maintenance fee, which is waived for any of the following:

  • Have a Fifth Third checking account
  • Maintain an average monthly balance of $500
  • Are under the age of 18
  • Are enrolled in Fifth Third Military Banking

CDs

Fifth Third Bank offers customers a number of CD options, with a range of terms and rates. The CD rates can also be improved for current Enhanced Checking Account holders, as those customers are eligible for an additional 0.25% on standard CDs with terms longer than six months. Fifth Third offers several CDs with a minimum deposit as low as $500.

The featured CDs have higher rates, but require a higher minimum deposit of $5,000.

Credit Cards

Fifth Third Bank offers four different credit cards (all MasterCards) to meet the needs of its customers, including two cashback rewards cards, a no-fee card, and a secured credit card:

  • Fifth Third Cash/Back Card: This rewards card offers a flat 1.67% cashback on all purchases. There is no annual fee.
  • Fifth Third Preferred Cash/Back Card: This Preferred version offers a flat 2% cashback on all purchases. There is no annual fee.
  • Truly Simple Credit Card: This no-fee card offers a 0% introductory APR for purchases made and balances transferred during the promotional period. There is also no penalty APR for missed payments.
  • Secured Card: Customers who are working to build or rebuild their credit can use the Fifth Third Secured Card. You will place a $300 refundable deposit into your Fifth Third Relationship Savings Account as backing for your card charges. There is a $24 annual fee.

Other Financial Products Offered By Fifth Third Bank

Fifth Third Bank is an excellent option for those who seek financing or investment services. It also offers:

  • Car loans
  • Purchase mortgages
  • Home equity loans
  • Home equity lines of credit (HELOCs)
  • IRAs
  • Robo-Investing
  • Managed investment portfolios
  • Financial advisors
  • Business loans

Fifth Third Bank Customer Service

You can reach live customer service agents via phone at 1-800-972-3030 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST Monday through Friday, and from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m EST on Saturdays and Sundays.

The mobile app allows you to handle your banking business, including mobile deposit, money transfers, and bill pay, 24/7. With over 15,000 ratings, the app boasts a 4.5 star rating on the App Store and is currently ranked #109 in Finance apps. It is also available on Google Play and has a similarly strong score.

Fifth Third ranks sixth in J.D. Power’s 2020 U.S. Banking Mobile App Satisfaction survey, which compares the mobile apps of 11 regional banks. That’s just slightly above the industry average. The bank itself ranked second in overall customer satisfaction in J.D. Power’s 2021 Retail Banking Satisfaction Study when compared against other banks in the Southeast region of the United States.

In trying to find accurate information about the rates offered, I called the customer service line to request the rate sheet for various accounts, per the website’s instructions. The customer service agent did not seem to know what I was requesting and told me repeatedly that Fifth Third does not provide a rate sheet, despite what the website says. This was a somewhat frustrating experience.

How to Bank with Fifth Third Bank

Customers in the 10 states served by Fifth Third Bank can easily open an account online or in person at one of the 1,100 available branches. Once you have opened an account, you can make deposits through online transfers from external accounts, mobile check deposit, wire transfer, check deposits by mail, at the ATM (except for Express Banking customers), or in person at a Fifth Third Bank branch.

Verdict

Fifth Third Bank offers a great deal of convenience for customers within their geographic footprint, enhanced by the fee-free ATM network nationwide. The number of products and services provided, as well as the savings and other incentives Fifth Third offers to customers with multiple accounts, means this can be a great one-stop-shop for all of your banking and financial activities. However, given the high monthly maintenance fees and low APYs, customers may find that their checking accounts cost more and their interest-bearing accounts pay less than competitors'. Although it is possible to eliminate monthly maintenance fees, Fifth Third sets more onerous requirements for waiving these fees than other banks do. Add in the monthly $3.95 service charge for using a debit card with all but the highest-tier checking account, and you may often feel nickel-and-dimed with an account at Fifth Third. If you only need a few services or the most basic of accounts, you may want to bank elsewhere.

Bank serves ‘blocked ads’ as respite from financial temptation /

How to spend it/ It is important for banks to try to connect and understand their customers during times of financial hardship. Through promoting responsible spending, Fifth Third Bank demonstrates support for those feeling the effects of the economic downturn.

According to a survey by Engine Group, a large majority of consumers expect a recession next year but are spending up to 30% more online.

How to transfer money online to friends and family

1

Use their contact information

If you have the email or U.S. mobile number of the recipient, you may be able to send money securely using an online service or app. For example, your bank's app might include Zelle®, a fast, safe and easy way to send money to friends, family and others you trust, offered by most major U.S. banks. There is also a stand-alone Zelle app that friends can use with their debit cards if their banks don't participate (terms and conditions apply). You should only use an app like Zelle with friends or family, not with people you don't know well, such as someone reselling concert tickets or doing another online transaction. This approach lets you easily send money to your loved ones, no matter where they bank in the U.S.

  • Deliverytime is typically within minutes when the recipient's email address or U.S. mobile number is already enrolled with Zelle.

Learn more from this video about how to send money online with Bank of America.

2

Type in their account number

If you have the recipient’s account number and transit routing number, you can use online banking or an app to transfer money into their account. You might do this with someone you regularly send money to, such as a family member. This is also a great way to transfer money between your own accounts.

  • Fees depend on the bank, but it could be free.
  • Delivery time may be immediate or may take two to four days.

Tip: A transit routing number—also known as a check routing number, ABA number or routing transit number (RTN)—is a nine-digit code that identifies the bank, its branch and location. Bank of America customers can find their routing numbers by using the routing numbers FAQ page.

3

Set up a wire transfer

For sending a large amount of money, wire transfers can be a solution. Keep in mind that there’s typically a fee for wire transfers. To make a wire transfer, you can call, visit or go online with your bank or a wire transfer company. Regardless, make sure you use a trusted source.

  • Fees vary based on the institution, though it could be free based on the type of account a customer has. Companies may charge a fee for sending as well as receiving wire transfers, and rates may increase if you’re sending the money to someone outside the U.S.
  • Delivery time is generally one day or less.

4

Have your bank send a check

Not everyone is set up for, or wants to receive, electronic transfers of money. You may be able to use online or mobile banking to arrange for your bank to send them a personal or cashier’s check. The recipient can deposit or cash it at their bank or can use mobile check deposit in their bank’s app. For regular checks, recipients may have to wait several days before accessing the money. For cashier’s checks, recipients may receive the money immediately when they cash the check.

  • Fees may or may not occur for ordering or depositing checks; ask your bank for policy details.
  • Delivery time varies based on mail delivery and how long it takes for the recipient to deposit the money. Domestic mail generally takes one to three days. Though it’s rare, checks do occasionally get lost in the mail. Ask your bank the procedure you should follow if this happens.
