Whether you're shopping for routine household products or new patio furniture, Amazon has you covered. Paired with the acquisition of Whole Foods, it's no wonder that many consumers do the bulk of their shopping at Amazon. As an Amazon Prime member, you'll enjoy benefits such as free two-day shipping, free Whole Foods delivery in eligible areas and more.

To lock in even greater savings, you may have considered applying for the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card. The 5% rewards rate on Amazon purchases and the gift card you receive upon approval are both fantastic incentives to apply. As an added bonus, this card offers solid rewards in other everyday categories, with 2% at gas stations, restaurants and drugstores.

Although this card has $0 annual fee, keep in mind that only Amazon Prime members are eligible to apply. For non-Prime members, it's likely not worth it to sign up for Amazon Prime just to get the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card, as there are other comparable options offering cash back for a wider variety of purchases.

Is the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card worth it?

For existing Prime customers, the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card could help you save big. Although there's $0 annual fee, think of the $119 Prime membership cost as part of the requirement to open this card. Still, only frequent Amazon or Whole Foods shoppers should consider this card above other options, as other cashback cards can help you earn bonus rewards on a wider variety of purchases.

How does the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card compare to other credit cards?

The best measure for a card’s value is to compare it against other offers. We look at how the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card's features stack up against some of its competitors.

Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card vs. Chase Freedom Flex℠

The Chase Freedom Flex℠ is a competing cashback card that may be better suited for those who don't shop exclusively at Amazon. Its sign-up bonus offers the chance to Earn a $200 Bonus after you spend $500 on purchases in your first 3 months from account opening. And earn 5% cash back on grocery store purchases (not including Target® or Walmart® purchases) on up to $12,000 spent in the first year.

You'll Earn 5% cash back on eligible purchases in rotating categories, 5% on travel purchased through Chase Ultimate Rewards®, 3% on dining and drugstores, and 1% on all other purchases. Here is 2021's cashback calendar:

  • Gas stations
  • Internet
  • Cable
  • Phone services
  • Select streaming services
  • Gas stations
  • Home improvement stores
  • Grocery Stores (excluding Walmart and Target)
  • Select streaming services

Note that the 5% bonus is only eligible for up to $1,500 in purchases per quarter. If you're fine with earning 5% back on Amazon.com during just a few months, the Chase Freedom Flex℠ may be a better option than the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card. If you prefer a more predictable reward structure where the categories never change, the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card is the better choice.

Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card vs. Citi® Double Cash Card – 18 month BT offer

The Citi® Double Cash Card – 18 month BT offer is one of the few credit cards that lets you Earn 2% on every purchase with unlimited 1% cash back when you buy, plus an additional 1% as you pay for those purchases. This applies regardless of where you shop — meaning you'll earn 2% back whether you're shopping on Amazon.com or purchasing movie tickets.

While the Citi® Double Cash Card – 18 month BT offer doesn’t give you the same 5% reward on Amazon purchases that you can get with the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card, the unlimited 2% rate takes the guesswork out of earning rewards. Unfortunately, though, the Citi® Double Cash Card – 18 month BT offer comes with no welcome offer whatsoever.

If Amazon.com makes up a large chunk of your total purchases, the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card is the better deal. However, if your spending is more varied, go with the Citi® Double Cash Card – 18 month BT offer instead.

Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card vs. Bank of America® Customized Cash Rewards credit card

The Bank of America® Customized Cash Rewards credit card is another popular option that lets you choose how you want to earn rewards. You'll earn 3% cash back in the category of your choice, 2% cash back at grocery stores and wholesale clubs (for the first $2,500 in combined choice category/grocery store/wholesale club quarterly purchases), 1% cash back on all other purchases

The 3% purchase categories include gas, online shopping, dining, travel, drug stores or home improvements and furnishings, and you can choose your bonus category monthly. If you happen to spend more at Amazon, or on other online purchases, in a particular month, you can choose to earn 3% on online shopping.

The sign-up bonus may be harder to achieve for some consumers: Online $200 online cash rewards bonus after you make at least $1,000 in purchases in the first 90 days of account opening. If you prefer to diversify your spending, the Bank of America® Customized Cash Rewards credit card can help adjust your rewards to your specific needs.

Earning and redeeming points

As mentioned above, the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card lets users earn 5% back at Amazon.com and Whole Foods Market with an eligible Prime membership, 2% back at restaurants, gas stations and drugstores and 1% back on all other purchases..

Earning and redeeming points

You'll earn rewards in the form of points, which can then be applied to future Amazon purchases through the Shop with Points Program. Or, you can redeem your points for cash back, gift cards or travel through Chase.

Each point is worth 1 cent each, so 100 points equal $1 in rewards. So long as you're a cardholder, your rewards won't expire, and there's no limit to how many points you can earn.

Is it worth signing up for Amazon Prime?

Amazon Prime costs $119 per year, comparable to the cost of many credit cards with annual fees. Since the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card is only open to existing Prime members, you may wonder if it's worth opening a membership if you don't own one already. Here is the list of the ongoing benefits you'll enjoy with Amazon Prime:

  • Free two-day shipping on millions of eligible products, with free same-day or 2-hour delivery in select cities
  • Extra 10% discount on sale items (excluding alcohol) at Whole Foods
  • Prime Video, offering access to thousands of movies and TV shows for free
  • Prime Music, offering over two million songs ad-free with the opportunity to upgrade to Amazon Music Unlimited at a Prime member rate
  • Amazon Photos, with free unlimited photo storage shareable to up to five family members or friends
  • 30-minute early access to Amazon Lightning Deals
  • Borrow one e-book for free on any Kindle device

If you live in a metropolitan area, Whole Foods offers free two-hour delivery or one-hour same-day pickup, which can be helpful to grocery shoppers who need items in a pinch. While the shipping benefit alone is why millions of people subscribe to Amazon Prime, there are many entertainment and shopping perks with this subscription.

Amazon Prime also offers a free six-month trial exclusively for college students. After that, you'll enjoy a 50% discount on membership while you're still a student.

Sign-up bonus

Upon approval, you're automatically granted a Get a $200 Amazon Gift Card instantly upon approval..

This is a considerable offer, as most credit cards require you to spend a certain amount of money to lock in the welcome bonus. But with the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card, you are rewarded simply for opening your account.

Equal pay financing offer

Suppose you're making a purchase on Amazon that costs thousands of dollars. With the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card, you can choose to opt out of earning rewards and participate in the special 0% APR offer instead:

  • On purchases of $50 or more, split into six equal monthly payments
  • On purchases of $250 or more, split into 12 equal monthly payments
  • On purchases of $500 or more, split into 18 equal monthly payments

If you choose the pay-over-time offer instead, you won't accrue any interest for the promotional period. The monthly payments will be charged to your statement on your Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card. If you fail to make your payments within the allotted time period, you'll start to accrue interest.

While this offer may be helpful for large purchases, we recommend that you avoid this option as you'll lose the ability to earn rewards on all of your Amazon purchases.

Other card benefits

While the main draw of the card stems from its 5% rewards rate and gift card, you don't want to miss out on the other benefits of the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card. As this is a Chase-issued, Visa signature card, you'll enjoy plenty of unexpected travel benefits:

When paying for your transportation with this card, you'll receive up to $500,000 in the event of accidental death or dismemberment. For legal, medical or other emergency situations, you can call the Benefits Administrator when traveling.

You'll receive up to $3,000 per passenger if you or an immediate family member has a carry-on or checked bag that is damaged or lost by a common carrier. If your bag is delayed for six or more by a common carrier, you'll receive up to $100 per day for three days.

Call 800-847-2869 in the event of a roadside emergency.

You'll receive secondary coverage on rental car insurance, protecting you against theft and collision damage.

You won't have to pay any foreign transaction fees when paying with another currency.

You'll have access to over 900 luxury hotels worldwide that offer the best rates and room upgrades and complimentary wifi, both subject to availability. You can also enjoy 24/7 concierge services to find tickets to events, make dinner reservations or any other inquiries by calling 800-953-7392.

Your new purchases are covered for 120 days against damage or theft. You can file a claim and receive reimbursement of up to $500 per item and up to $50,000 per cardholder account.

If your item comes with a U.S. manufacturer warranty under three years or less, your card will offer an additional year of coverage.

While all of these benefits likely won't be used every day, they could come in handy whether you need help with your purchase or on vacation. These perks tend to come with top-notch credit cards with annual fees, so the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card offers superb coverage overall.

Chase Credit Card Amazon Visa Login

Create a PIN to Sign in to Your Chromebook Easily

You utilize your Google account credentials, which include your password when you first set up your Chromebook. However, typing in your long password over and over can become boring. Fortunately, Google allows you to log in with a PIN rather than your password. The end effect is comparable to logging on to a Windows 10 PC with a PIN. Here's how you can use a PIN instead of your Google account password to log into your Chromebook. Sign in with a PIN on a Chromebook Go to Settings > Device > Screen lock to create a PIN for logging in. Signing in using a Chromebook Then, under the "Screen lock and sign-in choices" section, pick PIN or password and then the "Set up PIN" button after typing in your password once more. Then you enter your PIN number, which must be at least six digits long, not simply four as you might assume. It's also worth noting that your PIN can be longer than six numbers, which adds an extra layer of security to your Chromebook. Your new PIN will need to be typed in twice. Enter your Chromebook's PIN. Sign In With PIN You will now see a number pad to type in your PIN the next time you log in. You may use your keyboard to input it, or you can use your touchpad to enter the numbers, or you can use your touchscreen to enter it. You can, of course, continue to use your old password. The sign-in screen will show a number pad after you've set up a PIN, but you can still type your password if you like. If you need to change the PIN in the future, go back to Settings > Screen lock and sign in, then select the "Change PIN" option and key in your new PIN the same way you did when you first set it up. If you want to use the Smart Assistant but don't have your Android phone connected to your Chromebook, If you don't want to use the Smart Unlock feature on your Chromebook, you can use a PIN instead. It's especially useful if you utilise the Sleep Lock option on your Chromebook and frequently go in and out of it. To put the Chromebook to sleep, you'll need to enter a PIN each time you close it (closing the lid). Using the Sleep Lock function prevents unauthorised users from accessing your Chromebook. CHROMEBOOK, GOOGLE, AND SECURITY ARE ALL RELATED ITEMS. NEWS The Right-Click Revolution Gmail's Context Menu Introduces Useful Options Burgess, Brian On August 16, 2021, this page was last updated. Gmail is about to become a whole lot easier to use. The company is introducing a new enlarged context menu with features that will help you manage your mailbox more effectively. Gmail is getting a new feature that will make it much easier to organise your communications. This week, Google revealed a new right-click context menu with a slew of new features. "Archive," "Mark as unread," and "Delete" are the only three options in Gmail's original right-click context menu (seen below). Here's a peek at what the new menu has to offer in terms of management options. There are just three options for managing your messages in the current or "old" context menu. Context Menu in Gmail Has Been Expanded The new menu includes choices for replying to messages, forwarding them, and searching for all emails with the same subject or sender. You'll be able to use Gmail's snooze feature as well. You can right-click (or long-press on a touchscreen) on a message to bring up a context menu with new options like "Reply," "Move to," "Open in a new window," and more after the new menu has been rolled out to your account. Right-Click Context Menu in Gmail It's worth noting that the menu options you see depend on whether or not you've enabled Conversation mode. With Conversation mode enabled, for example, you'll be able to "Reply all," but you won't be able to find additional emails with the same subject. The options in this extended menu feel like they should have always been included in Gmail. Regardless, the new menu is already available, and anyone who uses Gmail will appreciate the additional options. It's a lot more useful, and it makes it a lot easier to manage your inbox. G Suite members will get the new menu first, followed by standard free personal accounts, according to Google. The gradual rollout will affect G Suite users. This week, it has already begun to roll out. The full distribution to everyone will begin on February 22nd, according to the business. There's good news! My G Suite and personal Gmail accounts both have the new menu as of this writing. There are also a lot of other folks online who claim to have the updated menu. If you don't have it yet, hang in there; the new context menu is rolling out to everyone in the next weeks. Frequent Amazon Shopper - Easy Approval

This is a great rewards card. My wife and I shop frequently on Amazon and will reap the 3% rewards quite often. So far we love the card and the power to manage my account online. A little about me. I have a fairly limited credit file. I started my credit journey in January 2015 with ano auto loan. I have made every single payment on time. In December 2015 I applied for Capital One Secured Card and was approved for a $200 limit with only a $99 deposit. I have kept utilization low (wife's advice) and made every payment on time. I was increased to $500 in June. I also applied for Chase Freedom in June and was approved for $500. Chase automatically increased my limit to $2000 in September. I have 5 comenity cards with nice credit limits and still keep utilization low. I applied for this card two weeks ago and was instantly approved for $2000 "Initial credit limit"!! Chase has been good to me and I will stick with them! CK scores TU 666, EQ 656 100% payment history 14% Utilization 13 Inquiries (Mostly due to shopping for an auto loan in February for my wife) 1 Collection of $325 which I will pay off at the end of this week

Terrible experience with this card

Credit Karma Member

My application was accepted and I was issued a credit card. I though the application process went smoothly, but two weeks later they looked at my Experian report and decided I didn't have enough personal credit history (most of my previous credit was jointly held with my wife who passed away recently). Even though they had my telephone number, email address, and could instant message me through the app/website, they chose to simply close my account without notifying me. I found out the account was closed after my kids and I ate a meal at a restaurant and I couldn't pay for it with my credit card. It took multiple messages and calls to their customer support department before they would even explain why the account was closed (I assumed it was an error or something up until that point). Customer service was rude and evasive every single time I talked to them. I closed my checking account with Chase before this because they were terrible, but I really wanted an Amazon card because I love Amazon. I have learned my lesson that everything Chase touches is awful.

Ideal for Chase customers+Amazon shopper

Credit Karma Member

I'm a Chase account holder and Prime subscriber already, so when this ad popped up while shopping on Amazon offering an instant $100 Amazon credit, I applied and now I use it for everything! You can't beat the 5% cash back on Amazon purchases, plus 1-3% on everything else. Plus, Chase banking makes it so easy to pay the credit card through their app, I basically use it instead of my debit card and then just pay the bills in full each month. When paid in full, you not only pay 0% interest, but also get cash back that adds up fast and points never expire unless you default. This is my new favorite card!

Their fraud protection is a joke

Credit Karma Member

So apparently while I was out of town on business www amazon com visa card chase and used my credit card for a cab ride the cabi charged me $200 rather than 20. And because I can't produce a receipt saying that it should have only been $20 Chase refuses to refund the difference note to self do not use your Chase credit card while you travel. Apparently because it detected a chip they don't need my signature as proof for the charge. Although I loved the Amazon Rewards the fact that they let me get ripped off for $200 kind of negates that

I don't have anything bad to say about key bank credit card login card. It is easy to manage and the chase website and app make it easy to make payments. The 5% cash back at Amazon and Whole Foods and 2% back at restaurants is phone number santander customer service. Not the best in terms of rewards but a reliable card.

Instant Favorite!

Credit Karma Member

This card has instantly become my favorite card. I have a Chase bank account so it makes the card extremely easy to manage. You get 3% cash back on Amazon purchases, and 1% cash back on all other purchases. I treat this card like a debit card and use it for everything that I would use my debit card for, then I turn around and make a payment and it comes immediately out of my checking account and back on my card. Super convenient! I've only been using the card for a week and I already have over 1000 points. Also you can redeem the points for gift cards, starting at 1000 points, or you can use it towards an amazon purchase. Love this card!

Credit Karma Member

The customer service is so bad from Chase that I am planning on closing this account because of the following experience. I got the card put charges on it, paid the bill in full and 5 days later Chase still hasn't cleared the payment! Customer agent got Supervisor on the phone who just put me on hold forever.

Best Credit Card for Amazon Frequenters

Credit Karma Member

I got this card as my first credit card since I frequently buy products from both Amazon and Whole Foods and I have Amazon Prime. If you also purchase from these two stores, the cash back is amazing. 2% on restaurants and gas also helps. The card also feels great, it has some weight to it, giving it a premium feel. Customer service is great, but I only had to call them once to verify my identity. The credit limit I started out with is very low, to the point I can't make any hefty purchases on this card. The APR is also high, so make sure you pay off the card right away. So should you get this card. If you have Amazon Prime, buy most of your products from Amazon and/or Whole Foods, and are on top of paying off your credit card, this card was made for you.

My favorite credit card!

Credit Karma Member

Was approved for a $2500 limit, even though my Experian report shows a score of 645 and one old, charged off debt. The card was instantly added to my Amazon account as the default payment method, even though it was about another week before I received the card in the mail and could register on Chase's website. That part was kind of weird. I wasn't comfortable spending on a card when I couldn't even log in to make a payment, so I made sure not to use it until I had the physical card in my hand and had registered with Chase. I've now had the card for a couple of months, and I use it constantly. As with all my cards, I only use it for things I have the cash to pay off immediately, and I keep my statement utilization very low. I've made about $30 back in cash rewards in the two statement periods I've had the card. Www amazon com visa card chase probably small potatoes to some people, but it's free money, and it's more than I make with my Discover card, so I'm happy.

Whether you're shopping for routine household products or new patio furniture, Amazon has you covered. Paired with the acquisition of Whole Foods, it's no wonder that many consumers do the bulk of their shopping at Amazon.

  • Grocery Stores (excluding Walmart and Target)
  • Select streaming services

Note that the 5% bonus is only eligible for up to $1,500 in purchases per quarter.

If Amazon.com makes up a large chunk of your total purchases, the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Www amazon com visa card chase is the better deal. However, if your spending is more varied, go with the Citi® Double Cash Card – 18 month BT offer instead.

You'll earn 3% cash back in the category of your choice, 2% cash back at grocery stores and wholesale clubs (for the first $2,500 in combined choice category/grocery store/wholesale club quarterly purchases), 1% cash back on all other purchases
